This is the perfect feel good read! Perfect one for summer, and with a book/literary theme.
I really loved the changing perspective of the book every few chapters, it really added depth to what could have easily become the stereotypical one dimensional side characters.
I like Sloane, our librarian who has to deal with the curmudgeonly Arthur, who also gets his own POV; I like Mateo, her coworker who has his own mommy issues to work on. I really liked Maisey, the nosy neighbor who works as a phone psychic & is struggling to navigate the relationship with her teenage daughter. Just such well developed characters that were easy to root for.
Very feel good, bettering oneself vibes. Perfect summer read that focuses on friendship & surprisingly no romance when one could’ve been worked in (I didn’t mind).

This was such a bittersweet book. I love the way the character is blossom in the whole together, and I love all the messages between the characters. I am glad that I got to read it!

This book was NOT what I expected because I thought it was going to be about an elderly librarian becoming friends (and then more) with an elderly patron....which is not at all what this book was about lol.
DESPITE the complete difference in my expectations, this book was fabulous! I loved the multiple POV's; this book reminded me of "The Reading List" which is one of my favorite reads of all time. I really enjoyed how this book engaged with classics and people who don't like those books - it didn't insinuate that they were dumb or lesser but really allowed for the enjoyment of multiple different kinds of books.
It was a super great, light-hearted read! No real big romance and romantic relationships, so I have many adults I know who would love this book.
