A cute story about found friendships, bibliophiles, and second chances. I enjoyed that every main character grew a little bit by the end of the book.

I loved it through and through. As always, I’m a sucker for a grouchy old guy who becomes not as grouchy by the end of the story (and learns some things about himself along the way). But what I loved about this book was that, to me, every major character learned something about themselves and became more true versions of themselves by the end of the book. I liked that it was told from each major character’s perspective. It made the reading more interesting and it was nice to gain insight into all of their inner worlds. Arthur’s speech to Maisey in Chapter 32 about her relationship with her daughter was one of the sweetest and most heart-touching moments in a book that I’ve read for a long time. It’s been awhile since a book really made me cry. This one did and I loved that about it.
I’m a sucker for books about books/bookworms/libraries. Light easy read about a group of unlikely friends forming a book club. Reminded me of The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett. Thumbs up for all the Anne of GG references.
