This book is as good as everyone has said. Who pissed off this author? They’d better watch themselves. I loved seeing these women and their magical realism. Watching these women become bad asses and handing all the men their asses was amazing. The rage and the justice is perfection. Every femme should read this book.

Wow. This book fueled my fury, that is for sure. The Change forces us to look at the power we place in the hands of not only the wealthy but men in general. When three women, the unlikeliest of friends, find themselves drawn together, they have no idea what they are in for. But, one thing is for certain- they will not stop until they figure out exactly what they are dealing with. A gym owner, a botanist, and a nurse stumble upon a dead body only to learn this is just one of many. This story unravels a very tangled web of suspects and lies that will keep you on your toes and ready to burn it all to the ground!

"Why do we keep going for thirty years after our bodies can no longer reproduce? Do you think nature meant for those years to be useless? No, of course not. Our lives are designed to have three parts. The first is education. The second, creation. And in part three, we put our experience to use and protect those who are weaker.”

In the change, we are introduced to 3 middle aged women in a community full of powerful and rich men.  As they enter menopause, they each find, or rediscover, their own powers.  One woman can see the ghost of young girls and is guided to find justice for them.  Another's hot flashes morphs into a release of supernatural fire and molten 'protective' powers.  The third is actually a witch.  She had forgotten.

These three women find each other and then work together to bring justice to a string of missing girls in the area.  As they dig deeper into the mysteries of these supposed runaways, they find layer upon layer of scandal and unbelievable betrayal.

This book is full of feminine rage.  While I don't agree with or even like all of the main characters, there were several characters, both male and female, that I fell in love with.  I enjoyed following the mystery throughout the book and feeling these women reach into their newfound powers to provide justice to this community.  It made me think and empowered me to view my own challenges in a different light.  That being said, there were several moments of moral and ethical dilemmas that I just couldn't get behind.  The language and constant nudity of one of the characters felt distracting to me.  However, because of the excellent writing and thought provoking mystery, I gave this book 4 solid stars.
