Really enjoyed this … the story/boleyn family was really fascinating and I had not known most of this . Middle felt like it dragged on too long so it was a bit hard to get through but the last 100 pages made up for it

It's very long but the best book I've ever read

it was a lot more interesting and engaging than I thought it was going to be. i had a great time.

Loved the fact that I read it during my trip to Paris - especially applying the court knowledge to Versailles!

This period of English history has always been fascinating to me in theory. I mean, a bunch of immature, young teenagers drunkenly running amok and calling it government? What's not to love?! This novel very aptly sums up what I imagined the reality might be, with very large tablespoons of salt seasoning the tale. I enjoyed the book, but might not have enjoyed it so much if it hadn't been for the historical background. I love historical fiction as a genre, but everything pales in comparison after reading the Lymond Chronicles (give it a try, trust me). But this was a really good airplane read.

historical fiction at its finest!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. This book got me hooked and I had to read the other four.

this book isn't something i'd be naturally drawn to, but since it's my mom and grandma's favorite, i felt generationally obligated to check it out!
it's difficult to read about young women being forced into nightmare situations by the men around them. some take it in stride, some not so much, but all suffer.
the final act was most compelling to me, when romance that i actually cared for was introduced (read: arguably the only truly consensual relationship in the novel) and the stakes at court escalated infinitely. did anyone else know that henry viii sucked????
