Y'all, check content warnings.
I'd initially expected this to be a lot of folklore/supernatural (the title in particular gave me that impression). While there's definitely some of that in there, it does not take the forefront as I think through the incredible stories in this collection. There's such a great range of extremely disturbing to lighter fare, with concerning endings and righteous ones. Many of these stories will likely stick with me for years to come.

I appreciate the length of each short story. They were about 5 to 6 pages at max. Some of the stories I really enjoyed when it came to supernatural theme or more dark classic horror themes. Some of the stories did drag on a bit, but it was nice to be able to skip a story and not feel like you’re missing out on a major details since it is an anthology. By the time I finished reading the book, I did get a bit burnt out and decided not to read the last three short stories. In my opinion, the couple of short stories are the most interesting, and what really like pulled me into the book.

Went a little outside of my usual genre reading this, not usually the horror/thriller type reader, but I really enjoyed this! I thought there was lots of variety in the types of stories you encounter (whether from a paranormal/otherworldly experience to just other humans doing some terrible things). Glad I picked this up, and would recommend for those who love dark stories.

I really enjoyed this fantastic Anthology. Many stories were deeply disconcerting, and had me jumpy and on edge after some late night reading. Some of my favorites were White Hills, Scariest. Story. Ever. and Eulogy for A Brother, Resurrected (this one in particular was my favorite, and I look forward to reading more from the author!)- I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for thoughtful, well crafted horror that packs a punch
