Thus far my least favorite of the Narnia books.
“Crying is all right in its way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later, and then you still have to decide what to do.”
I know a lot of people of those books and I think it’s mostly a case of growing up with something and seeing it less critically. I think even for its time the book is too conservative which does make sense since the author is incredibly religious. This book does not let you forget that he does not have the best opinion of women or that he is religious. I never care for the beliefs of the author, but it’s really noticeable in the book. Additionally, I think it’s rather boring.

A great installment in the Narnian saga. To be honest, nothing about this book really sticks out to me as unique in the series, except the travels in Underland. As with all the books however, the characters are great, the plot is engaging, the allegory is of course piercing and poetic.
