Much more enthralling than I was expecting, definitely the most under rated book in the series. The three previous books in the series were all guilty of having quite a lot of sequences where nothing seems to be happening but this book doesn’t do that. The story finds our young adventurers on a mission to find a missing prince which leads them on a perilous journey which sees them come up against giants, witches and more. There are even one or two impressive twists in this book. Not my favourite in the series but definitely the best written. I’d rate this as my third favourite overall

However it happened, I seemed to think this was book one in the series (which is actually The Magician's Nephew). Nevertheless, I still thoroughly enjoyed it, and I'm not sure I would have as much as I did if I hadn't listened to the audiobook version narrated by Jeremy Northam. He did a fantastic job. Even jumping to the end of the series (oops!), I enjoyed the read.
My favorite Narnia book! It encompasses the best parts of the Lion the witch and the wardrobe and the Magicians Nephew! I love Jill and Eustice’s dynamics! I wish people talked about them as much as Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. This one was so exciting and calm ( great balance) This is definitely a feels like home book!
