Yall I am OBSESSED with this book! When I tell you that Mariah Carey's Obsessed will most likely be on my Spotify year end list, I am not lying. It fits PERFECTLY with this book. This is now officially on the list of a book I wish I could experience again for the first time. I don't know how Liz keeps doing it, but the bar she is setting for her MCs is higher and higher. I didn't think anyone would be able to pass Kai and Ryan as my favorite but OMG Isaiah is like NEXT LEVEL. This book was SOOO good! I was soo invested in these two figuring everything out. I loved how opposite they were but how much they helped each other. I loved their vulnerabilites- Isaiah showed the world this fun, carefree guy when really he felt like everyone he had cared for had left him and chosen someone else. He just wanted Kennedy to PICK HIM. And then Kennedy who had everything she could want for but no affection, no love from her family. What a combination these two had. Watching Kennedy peel back her layers and realize that she COULD be affectionate. She wasn't a cold person. She just needed the right person by her side. Someone she could trust and be open with. Someone who believed in her. And then Isaiah. ISAIAH who had been crushing from this woman from afar for 3 years. Who met her and married her on one of the hardest days of his life. Who took their accidental marriage seriously from the jump. Watching him try to hold back while also reveling in everything was Kennedy. And then when he realizes that she DID choose him- SWOON. I CRIED in this one yall. The brotherly love and found family in this one was also next level. It was just done so perfectly. I can't describe it! I just know that I can't stop thinking about this one and how much fun I had reading it :)
Kennedy has decided she needs a change in her life. Her ex fiance left her for her step sister which yeah sucks but they never really had feelings for each other. If anything, it was borderline arranged. But she is an MD working at the bottom of the PT wrung for the Chicago Warriors. She is determined to change her fate which is why she is looking at a different club. But then she has a drunken night and winds up getting married to Isaiah Rhodes. The same Isaiah who has been hitting on her openly for the past 3 years. The same Isaiah who is beyond handsome and has ladies on his arms at all times. Now she is married to him which ok they can pivot. They will make this an arranged situation until she leaves. She just needs the season. But the more she is around Isaiah the more she realizes there is a lot that he doesn't show everyone. Like how much he truly cares for his people. How he reacts to thunderstorms and why. How he wants to get married. She starts to question if this is as arranged on his side as it is on hers. Because he keeps saying to play along but it doesn't feel like they are playing anymore. Not when he looks at her like that knowing all he knows about her. Not when he asks her questions that no one has ever asked her. Not when she realizes she trusts him with everything- her body, her smiles, her heart. He has her back more than anyone has before. So now when she is faced with a major life decision it comes too easy to say she wants to stay with this man who has become her sunshine. This man who makes her feel ALIVE. And she can't wait to tell him :)
Isaiah has been in love with Kennedy Kay for three years. Ever since he met her all those years ago on a day that brings hard memories. But he feels like their connection is there, even if she ignores him and ribs him like all of the other players. But she was off limits with that huge rock on her finger. But now its' gone and Isaiah starts to hope if maybe he has a shot. And then fate intervenes. They are in Vegas together and they get married. SHE initiates in. SHE wants him even if it is a drunken decision. He clings to that. Even when the fallout happens. He convinces her to stay in this marriage for however long she needs until she gets her dream job. Meanwhile he has decided this is his time to convince her they are legit. That they can go the distance. She seems to think that the more he knows her the more he will realize they won't work. But she is beyond wrong. Because the more he is around her and in this *fake* marriage the faster he falls for real. He doesn't want this to be fake. And then she asks him for lessons of a sort in affection. And he wants to say no because he can see that he might get hurt. But how can he say no to touching his dream girl. He will just have to ruin her for every other man. He gives her as much of himself as he can without scaring her. He gives her his body. He gives her his heart unknowingly. He wants this to work but then he sees she might not want that too. So when her dream job comes up sooner than he thought he gets prepared to let her go or make a major move himself because he doesn't want her to feel trapped in anything like before. He wants HER to be able to decide if she wants to drop the play and recognize that they have real feelings. And when she agrees it's like all the pieces fall into place. He couldn't imagine being a happier man.
I HIGHLY recommend listening to this one! I did a half read/half listen but the narrators were perfect at bringing the banter and tension to the story. I just absolutely loved these two! And getting the side character glimpses was so much fun too. They were all rooting for Kennedy to realize Isaiah really did want this. The first family dinner was hilarious- IYKYK. Who doesn't love when the golden retriever who is beyond mushy on the inside gets the satisfaction of the girl he has had a crush on for YEARS. Who doesn't love a good brother love showing up in support while trying to protect each other. I just LOVED everything about this one and will 100% be rereading it someday. Also the gift that Kennedy gave them on their real wedding day in the epilogue- Liz that one GOT ME GOOD! If you haven't read this series DO IT. Just know Isaiah is waiting for you in book 4 :)

Ohh, god, not another “please teach me how to touch a man, because I don’t know how to, and I feel like I can trust you to help my inexperienced, fragile little self, so now we will basically be in a relationship for the entirety of the book, but I will still be in denial, ignore every single sign that points toward the truth, and basically treat you like my own personal sex toy until the very end when I finally realise that maybe the sex actually did mean something and I want to have that sex with you for the rest of my life” as if it is the most romantic thing ever.

Oh My God I literally have like no words this book was amazing. The slow burn was just slow enough and omg don;t get me started and the tension and their chemistry I loved it. Yes they do only get together 95% into the book but I literally wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. And I think their character developement was so goood and their banter and everything never stoppped and i think that was probably my favorite. I was literally laughing out loud and I haven’t had that in a minute. Ivan was so in love with her it was so heart warming like he would do anything for her and she would too. I do think the ending could be a little better but i ama still giving it 5 stars.

Not my fav of the Windy City series, but still had a lot of charm to it. I felt it was a bit drawn out at times and felt a bit manipulative by Kennedy. I didn’t love her character as I did the other women in the series. Felt like she was using Isiah, then one day everything switched and she loved him which was a bit weird. Overall, loved the happy ending and it was a quick read.

Liz Tomforde you never fail me. This book was adorable, Isaiah was the biggest green flag on the planet and I could not stop smiling throughout this whole read.
The way that Kennedy and his relationship blossomed was so heartwarming and lovely to follow.
He falls first and he falls harder + fake dating / fake marriage - um yes obviously I was gonna love this book. After reading 4 contemporary romances back to back I thought I needed a break but I couldn’t help myself the minute I found out that this book was out I just had to read it. Maybe I’m easy to please but I really liked this book
I am once again still lonely as fuck but cannot wait to return to the windy city with Rio
