This was a solid collection of stories - and whoever edited the collection together knew exactly when to switch from Hastings told stories to third person before it got boring hearing only from the poor Captain. The last story even featured Miss Lemon! I wasn't expecting the shift from Suchet to Hugh Fraser as the narrator of the audiobook and found it wonderful to hear both Poirot and Hastings' voices in different stories.
A lot of them, possibly due to their length, ended on a cliffhanger after the twist. Poirot has confronted the culprit, and then the scene focuses on something nearby before cutting away without a definite conclusion. A few of them felt almost ominous because of it, like How Does Your Garden Grow?, and those were definitely my favourite. They showcased the mortality of Poirot perfectly – he's a lover of justice and has come to understand that doesn't always mean from the police, but it arrogantly always means from himself.
