Um…. Wow
Probably one of my favourite scenes I’ve ever read in a dark romance, definitely confused at times but obsessed enough with briony and aero that I’ll allow it.

Wow, I am not sure how I want to rate this book. This is a pretty dark, stalker romance that will definitely push your boundaries, especially people of faith. That content didn't bother me, but I could see how it could make people uncomfortable.
I want to preface this by saying I hated Haunting Adeline, and I absolutely do not get the hype over that book and Zade. I tried reading that book twice, and DNF'd it both times. So, I was nervous when I saw so many people comparing this book to that one. I honestly liked this much more than that book, mainly because of the writing. I think Jescie Hall's writing was much better, and I like Aero a lot better than Zade. I will probably be in the minority on this one, though...
Briony is a part of a strict, religious cult and is the first female up for a leadership role in the church. However, some men in the church do not want that to happen. Aero is her stalker and wants to save her from the church and awaken her to how corrupt it is. He is going to make her see the light by any means necessary.
Aero is an unhinged, crazy hero, but I felt his character was fleshed out, and his reasons for his obsession made sense. Briony's character did a pretty drastic change, going from super innocent and pure girl to a sexually strong badass by the end.
I will say that this book was way too long. It was 80% smut and 20% plot. I found myself skimming sex scenes and getting over them. It was OTT, and we could have cut out half the book and lowered the number of sex scenes. I was getting so bored by the amount of crazy, spicy sex.
If you want some crazy spice, this is the book for you because we have a bit of everything in here. I think this is a 3.5, due to the length and too many sex scenes, but I rounded it up to 4 since I enjoyed the writing, and there are definitely some great scenes. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I can't wait to read Hawke next.
Just make sure to check your triggers.
Kink: Degradation, blood play, breath play, primal play, anal, snowballing, spitting, somnophilia
***Basically a lot
