The action that the whole book builds up to is so lack luster if you blink you’re gonna miss it.
There was obviously very little research done about how psych wards operate , and very little done on mental illness. The little research that was done on mental illness was just regurgitated back at you as if you were reading the definition or symptoms from a dictionary.
I’m highly disappointed as I’ve read other books by this author and have enjoyed them. This seems more like a high school creative writing project instead of her newest book.
Moderate: Toxic friendship, Schizophrenia/Psychosis , Forced institutionalization, Mental illness, Ableism, Gaslighting, and Murder
Minor: Death of parent

Moderate: Mental illness, Dementia, and Ableism
The mental ableism in this was pretty gross. Describing people as "insane" and "crazy" just adds to the stigma people with these psychological disorders already face. Also, there is an incorrect definition of the term sundowning by a med student.
