The writing of this book felt very juvenile. The main character gives off strong “not like other girls” vibes  comparing herself to another character and how that character is always wearing makeup and she never can be bothered because she is just too smart and busy being not like other girls who love to read.

The action that the whole book builds up to is so lack luster if you blink you’re gonna miss it.

There was obviously very little research done about how psych wards operate , and very little done on mental illness. The little research that was done on mental illness was just regurgitated back at you as if you were reading the definition or symptoms from a dictionary.

I’m highly disappointed as I’ve read other books by this author and have enjoyed them. This seems more like a high school creative writing project instead of her newest book.

I love everything by this author, but this was especially thrilling and I had no idea who or what to believe!

Summary:
Amy Brenner wants to become a doctor, unsure of what kind of doctor though. Part of being a medical student she must test out different fields for her studies. This case; she's required to be spending the night in a locked psychiatric ward: Ward D.

Normally, this would be ok but considering Amy has a friend who once stayed in Ward D she has very off feelings about being back there. But of course, she can't really express this haunting concern to anyone else. Instead she must go in and face her overnight stay..

As the hours pass Amy becomes more and more aware that something bad is happening inside the locked unit, crazed information coming from patients, staff and patients missing.. It's clear Amy and others might be in serious danger.

Thoughts:
I'm not surprised that yet again Freida McFadden has me hooked. I went into this one based off suggestions and reviews from other people, so I had some ideas on peoples thoughts but honestly... I can't put down Freida books unless I have to.

Like all the other books I've read by her, Ward D was no exception. This was an easy read, kept me interested through the whole story. The only reason I give this just under a 5 but literally soooooo close was because I just felt Amy flatlined for me at the end - I understand being in shock but I don't know it didn't feel like her? Maybe I just saw too much into that but that's just my opinion.

And when that big shock came through about Dr. Beck my jaw dropped because I was shocked and questioning how I didn't realize either?!
