For the most part this is just crazy Carnage action with a great look and smooth transitions between the crossover titles. But the last issue (Minimum Carnage Omega) really dives deep and ties Venom and Scarlet Spider together. Showing the struggle both characters have between being the monster they've been in the past, and living up to the standard of the hero they both admire. A great read for any fans of either of these anti-heroes and for Spider-Man fans as well.

A scientist in Houston builds another Prometheus Pit, a gateway to the Microverse, just in time for Carnage and some new allies to use it. Fortunately, Agent Venom and the Scarlet Spider chase him into the Microverse but can they stop a madman from using Carnage to destroy the Microverse and our universe with it?

Since I've been fairly obsessed with the Micronauts the past couple weeks, I googled the Prometheus Pit and this popped up. Thanks to Marvel Unlimited, I gave it a shot.

For what it was, a story about a very derivative and overused villain, it was pretty good. Some baddies from the Microverse let Carnage loose and take him to the Microverse to use him as a weapon. The "half-assed heroes," as Carnage calls them, go down the Prometheus Pit after him. After meeting up with the Micronauts Marvel has the rights to, Carnage ensues. Pun intended.

Scarlet Spider and Agent Venom do some bickering and kick some symbiotic ass. Rann, Marionette, and Bug were in fine form, although they didn't do all that much. I like how they brought in Acroyear without ever calling him Acroyear or showing much of him without the bandages. Scarlet Spider actually showed some brains in the end instead of doing the endless "let's haul him off to jail again so he can escape and go on another killing spree" routine.

It takes more than a trip to the Microverse to tell a good story, though. The Micronauts' inclusion was a glorified cameo and beyond that, it was pretty much good guys punching bad guys. Maybe I was expecting too much.

All things considered, it wasn't bad. It was good to see The Micronauts in a comic that was made after 1986. Agent Venom had a little more depth to him than I thought and I liked the Scarlet Spider's inner turmoil.

Minimum Carnage wasn't a must-read by any means but was a fun, if a little shallow, story. Three out of five stars.

Ugh. Carnage. And Venom only minutely better. And the Microverse is just plain dumb. And add Scarlet Spider to the mix and it's really no better. But include a backup story with just the Scarlet Spider and his friends in Houston and that's at least pretty good. But not good enough to see this blood-laced horrible book.

Minimum Carnage is a 4/5 star book, but it gets 5 stars from me because the final issue of the tpb is the Scarlet Spider issue where a bunch of guys dress as Santa try to rob the hotel Kaine is staying at and he beats the hell out of them AND learns the meaning of Christmas.

I really enjoyed the book.

This book is about Scarlet Spider and Venom teaming up to deal with Carnage as he causes chaos in the Microverse. They will have to put their differences aside as they have to figure out their teamwork to stop whatever it is that Carnage gets into in the Microverse.

It was an interesting story with these 2 working together to stop a common enemy. I liked that way that both of them had of dealing with Carnage. I liked that they are not the best of friends but they know that they have to work together in order to stop Carnage from doing what he plans to do.

It was entertaining to watch the story progress and see what the 2 were going to do to stop Carnage.

I really enjoyed this book.

I read this book and I can't honestly tell you what happened. The creators throw so much at you so quickly you just start losing any sense of context. Be prepared to ask yourself - who is that? - a lot.

This little event was pretty enjoyable. Nothing too deep or well crafted, but certainly a lot of fun. Could've used a capable editor though, as some parts were a bit messy and I ran into a lot of typos and poor grammar.
