Really enjoyable read - Nelson's writing is very beautiful. It was really interesting getting her perspective on homonormativity (capitalism etc.), queer parenthood, and her own journey with motherhood. I will say, I kind of just read through this accepting I wasn't going to retain or understand much of it lol. I find the lack of structure a bit difficult on my ADHD brain. BUT that did not make it any less enjoyable or interesting.

Especially loved her perspective of being partnered with someone who is gender non-conforming/trans/non-binary.

Combination of theory and memoir, muddies the binary of transgressive and normative through reflections on queerness, motherhood, pregnancy, and family.

would’ve liked more about their family/lived experience, or from the perspective of harry himself. a more collaborative piece between the author and harry might have touched me more (like the final few pages did).

incredible exploration of gender in relationships and while trying to have children. made me rethink so much about motherhood and queer motherhood.
