Somebody once told me the world was gona roll meeee

When I tell you idek how to describe my feelings on this book, I MEAN it. My feelings about this book are just about as confusing and f'ed up as Ridge's throughout the whole book.
At the beginning, I was undoubtedly giving this a 5 star review. The chemistry between Ridge and Sydney was SO tangible and perfect and the way they communicated was adorable.
And then... ⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️ the sick freak that haunts me in my sleep made its appearance. The ✨️cheating trope✨️. When the cheating trope appears in a book, it basically defines how I'm gonna feel about the rest of the book. I've said it once and I'll say it again,
IF A MAN CAN'T DECIDE WHICH WOMAN HE WANTS, HE SHOULDN'T GET EITHER OF THEM.
And this book... somehow made it... so much worse? I'll just pull from a line that actually made me slam the book down:
"So when you ask if I would choose her over you, you're presenting a situation that I can't give you a straight answer to. Because yes, at this point, I probably would walk away from you if she asked me to. The majority of my loyalty still lies with her."
LIKE WHAT THE F-
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
And also the whole Sydney thing of "I won't tell her we kissed." Like HOW DISRESPECFTFUL- If you're gonna be disgusting enough to kiss another woman's man I shouldn't expect you to have human decency beyond that of a peanut but still, it just made me mad. And the fact that she so easily let Ridge back into her life after repeatedly admitting she was AND IS his second choice? The self respect is non existent. I honest to God need a book about Maggie because her life and her story was so much more intriguing tbh.
I hate this because Hoover writes Ridge to be such a sweet and likeable character and every few pages when you think, "Maybe he'll finally dedicate himself to his MAIN love interest and be a decent guy." Hoover takes that hope and absolutely dumps on it. Like I kind of wish the book was about Maggie and Ridge and that they stayed together. Maggie was such a good-hearted and forgiving character and Ridge was VERY CLEARLY deeply and madly in love with her more so than Sydney. It just pisses me off that he's like "We weren't meant for each other but I would also leave your sorry

me declaro solemnemente fanática de las canciones I'm in Trouble y Maybe Someday

The prologue and first couple chapters had me so excited for this book. Unfortunately as I continued on, it just became super repetitive and boring. The entire book consists of Sydney and ridge sitting writing songs while thinking about how much they want to be together but can’t. This happens over and over and got old quickly. I absolutely love Colleen Hoover but this book just didn’t do it for me. I did think it was cool that she worked with an artist to create the songs written in here though.
