I absolutely loved this book and the characters in it are so likable. I’m looking forward to starting the next book in this series and seeing where things go between Ridge & Sydney.

Okay Ridge is a walking red flag and no matter who he ends up with, I think it’d end in disaster. Maggie deserves more than any of these fools. Ridge blaming Sydney for maggie reading the messages between Ridge and Sydney is wild. Like how about you just told her as soon as it happened instead of continuing to work with her on music. It’s obvious he is in love with Sydney, but has some guilt toward Maggie, most likely due to her chronic illness. Any man that has such difficulty in choosing between two people is a no for me!! Maggie telling Ridge that perhaps he would be better off without her like SHE’S the burden, is yucky. Like GIRL, have some self respect after what they did to you.
Ugh- when Ridge and Maggie (the supposed love of his life) aren’t even broken up for 3 weeks and he runs straight into Sydney’s bed.

ALSO, whyyy is Ridge non-hearing and trying to speak literal words to Sydney to communicate and she isn’t making an effort to learn sign. That makes no sense to me.

2 stars because the ending was cute

Matters of the Heart

You can control your mind but you can't control your heart. That means who you fall in love with and who you will stay in love with maybe two different people. How would you decide?

I enjoyed the beginning of this book and found the tug between the main characters believable and interesting. But I have zero patience with cheaters so when it eventually just descended into trying to justify cheating, I really lost patience. It could have been a nuanced look at relationships but instead it just ended up trying to make it okay that Ridge was emotionally
and at one point physically
cheating on his girlfriend.
The side characters were one dimensional and it was inexplicable that Warren was constantly watching porn in the living room. I mean ??
The accompanying songs you could actually listen to were a fun touch, but the lyrics were dire!!
The ending was too neat.
The fact that Maggie decided she just no longer wanted to be with Ridge was too convenient and seemed like an easy excuse for terrible behaviour on Ridge's part.

i really enjoyed the plot of the book, but the ending was so anticlimactic. it was just your basic love story with a little bit of character flaw, so it definitely could have been a lot more interesting

Heartbreakingly beautiful ❤

My least favorite Colleen Hoover book so far. So annoying.. what ever can we do to stop being tempted to cheat and hang out all the time?! Maybe move out?! I jokingly thought oh I bet the girlfriend dies and wham there she is having a seizure on the floor. This book had so much potential but fizzled out for me.

Just can't with the writing style, the slut-shaming, the violence, the "she's not like other girls/people"-bs

I also let myself be spoiled, so I know it won't get any better, so bye...
