Very interesting. This short book is a perfect antidote to the idea that all Muslims are alike. Over the course of the dialogue, I learned about many varieties, approaches, interpretations, etc. of Islam. Also explained the role of ideology in extremism.

It's very unique book about how Islamist ideology works and what is word jahad and how to counter far toxic extremists groups. This book have very rich vocabulary and explains 2 perspectives of highly functioning individuals with limited knowledge about religion.

Terrific short conversation between Maajid Nawaz & Sam Harris. It was great to hear a rational discussion between people with differing views. Myself being much more familiar with Harris, I was particularly interested in the Maajid Nawaz part of the dialogue, which ended up being quite insightful. Maajid defined several terms and gave some general history of Islam which was really helpful for me to better understand the religion and his views on how to reform it.

As an atheist but also as someone who is incredibly interested in Islam I found this book to be extremely interesting, insightful and informative. It really helped me to look at certain things in a different light and the topic as a whole is entirely relevant for our current time.

Give Sam Harris's portions a 2.5. Give Majid Nawaz a 7.5.
