I loved this one so much more then the first book. This felt closer to the comics. I also loved that we got a little more world building and that we got more character growth. Especially for Aiden!
I loved getting more of all the characters. I just wish that this focused a little more on Nick and Seiji. Because it felt like a pretty fair chunk of this story focused on the relationship drama between Harvard and Aiden. Much as I love them, I wanted to see Nick and Seiji’s growing friendship/relationship and whatever was going on with Eugene and Jesse. I did however, like Aiden’s (begrudging) character growth. I loved that he became this reluctant big brother figure to the freshmen. It was kind of adorable!
All in all, I liked Fence Disarmed a lot. It was fun to see the boys at a training camp and interacting with other fencers. I’m really excited to jump back into the comics after this. Fence Disarmed is getting a four out of five stars!
