bad and uninspired in the exact way you'd expect. every other line is a line you've read before in another contemp romance. fun, easy to read, and unfocused plot.

Finally got around to finishing the last 14% of this book. Life‘s been hectic lately.

Anyway, I loved Shane and Diana. The spice was hot hot hot. But their banter is what made me adore their relationship tremendously. Also, I loved how Kennedy managed to sneak in the name of 4/5 (or maybe I just missed the 5th one) 1D members.

The end was pretty emotionally loaded and you should definitely check trigger warnings.
I would‘ve wished for Shane to kill Percy, however, sadly I guess the way Kennedy decided to write it is closer to reality. What a joy to be a woman.

Can’t wait for the 3rd part now. <3

Diana and Shane had a lot of likable moments, but I found their story too heavy overall.
While the abusive ex gets charged and will likely face jail time, it just felt as though we are meant to believe because she’s strong she’ll get through it with the help of counseling. Add in the loss of his father, and the whole story becomes very sad. I personally struggled  to keep reading through to the end.

at first, shane annoyed me to no end with his money talk and shit but then he grew on me a lot throughout the book. i love diana. the smut was good—the balcony scene like shit. also elle, my girl, have you always been writing such traumatic subplots that i haven’t really been picking up on? either way, best of the new series so far

Ask me if I’m okay? (I’m not.)

Elle Kennedy gets better and better, and I never want to let Briar University go. The Dixon Rule is sexy, gut-wrenching, thought-provoking, hilarious, and will hold your heart in its clutches and never let go.

I wasn’t sure I was ready to say goodbye to Gigi and Ryder but Diana and Shane have stolen my heart. Their expert sarcasm and undeniable chemistry makes for some truly hilarious scenes. Then enters Will Larson and we have truly been rewarded with some of the sexiest writing I have ever been honoured enough to read. Oh my. This book had me blushing from head to toe.

As Elle does so beautifully, The Dixon Rule, romantic as it was, handled some truly devastating and harrowing topics so very well. From domestic abuse to terminal illness, each hard-hitting topic was dealt with with grace, respect and an understanding of how different people handle the same situations differently and that’s okay. I would strongly advise you to check your trigger warnings before reading The Dixon Rule but please be assured that this story is one of love and resilience and handles each of these subjects with the utmost care.

I was SO thrilled to see the appearance of so many of your favourite Briar U characters. I’m still eagerly awaiting the arrival of everyone but to get a deeper glimpse into the lives of our OGs was so much fun. That being said: justice for Allie, Brenna, Grace, Taylor and Demi, most of whom haven’t even had a mention yet! Fitz too!

I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve giggled like a school girl. The Dixon Rule was everything.
