The Venue

This book was recommended to me based on my enjoyment of the movie “The Menu.” It definitely delivered on the unexpected horror in a highend place, but was not executed in the same way as The Menu. It does however have deranged people committed to punishing the perceived social influence of others. The dresses had pockets, so I first thought this book was written by a woman but then it felt like a man when the MC Amy’s perspective spoke of her Long-term girlfriend (now ex) as an “old friend” or “former roomie” on more than one occasion, which lacked the sapphic edge that written by a woman could have provided us, this is my only major critique. Other than that, I really enjoying this book. It was fast paced and had satisfying action. There also wasn’t a lot of emotional depth throughout but with this kind of story it felt more like entertainment and it wasn’t really necessary to move the story forward. Would recommend.

This was bat shit insane in the best way possible. Excellent horror/thriller. I read the authors other novel Intercepts and this was equally as good!

Gritty and entertaining.

It was a quick read but ultimately you fall in love with the characters. In the end everything works out. I was pleased with the way the story unfolded. Its certainly an event to remember.

I love a good survival story! This was fun, campy, over-the-top, ridiculous, eat-the-rich horror with dynamic characters and heart. It was perfectly frustrating, funny, anxiety-inducing, and thrilling. Can’t wait to read more from this author!

This was the wildest most brutal read I have ever read.
I was insanely surprised I liked it.

If you like horror and revenge stories this is for you.

Thanks Kindle Unlimited for the recommendation
I would have never know.
But wow I really liked this.

It was such a change of pace from my normal reads
Seriously my jaw was on the floor for like 90%
Of this book.

WILD.

Intercepts was not only a 5 star read for me, but my one of my favourite reads of the year. I immediately perchased The Venue upon finishing it to read more from the author.

I am struggling to see how these two books were written by the same person. And not only that, the fact that The Venue came out AFTER Intercepts has me completely boggled.

I wanted to DNF at various occasions but stuck with it, skimmed the last 50 or so pages. This really didn’t work for me I’m afraid.

This book was insane! Haha so much fun to read!
