Who wouldn’t want a wedding ceremony where you get to kill people with your future spouse & force your guests to off each other to survive the night? Gory, fast paced, and addictive.

This book was good until it wasn’t. I was invested in the first half, I was ready to throw my phone during the second half. Wishing death on all the “good” characters is rarely a sign of a positive outcome, this time was no different.
Excellent. I read Intercepts (5/5) 2 days ago, In My Father's Basement (3.5/5) yesterday, and The Venue (4/5) today. Lovely wedding battle royale, engaging take on a oft done premise. The strength of his female characters I've seen hints of in his other two novels (Joe's daughter, Riley) really shone here with Amy and Mariko.
I *loved* that a small thing from a previous novel makes an appearance here. I hope that the author is quietly building a universe.

I like the concept. Some of the writing, particularly the ending, was a bit cheesy. But overall a good read.

Entertaining Bloodbath Wedding
Wasn’t a huge fan of the author’s previous novel Intercepts but saw potential. Fortunately The Venue gripped me immediately and was a fun and exciting horror novel about the wedding reception from hell. It’s not perfect, and I had some quibbles here and there, but stayed up late and powered through this fast-paced and bloody matrimonial tale. Gory fun, plenty of action, and just a little bit of romance.
