I saw the film before reading the book and was surprised at how short the story of benjamin button actually is! Ah, the liberties taken by Hollywood! I really enjoyed this story the most, although the others were also strange and beautiful in their own way. A fine example of fitzgeralds writing.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: 4 stars! Short story written in a darkly humorous style that reminded me of Roald Dahl. I told my middle schooler she would like this story.
The rest of the stories I give 1 to 2 stars to. Weird stuff.

Some short stories were pretty ok but most sucked

A wonderful collection of Fitzgerald's short stories (especially "The curious case of Benjamin Button"!!), which mirrors the ups and downs of the 1920s- prohibition, the period between the two World Wars and the glamour of Jazz.
Although all of the stories appeared under the same "theme", they offer a great variety in plot and narration.
Fitzgerald's beautiful writing can be read like poetry and his gift for inventing stories is what makes him one of my favorite authors.

My favourite short story collection of Fitzgerald’s so far, I feel this is where he was really starting to experiment/branch out and come into his own.
Contains 11 short stories, grouped into three parts. The stories were as follows:

As with most short story collections, some are far better than others. These for the most part were enjoyable glimpses into the early part of the 20th century.

Dalyrimple Goes Wrong starts with the quote "In the millennium an educational genius will write a book to be given to every young man on the date of his disillusion... all people over thirty will refer to it as 'depressing.'" It got me thinking if there is such a book. Catcher in the Rye came immediately to mind.
