Allie Hayes is caught in limbo after the end of her long-term relationship, and graduation is looming. Rebound sex with Dean Di Laurentis wasn’t her plan, but it happened. Dean has a reputation and the confidence that he gets what he wants. It was supposed to be just one night, but now he cannot get her out of his mind.

Allie is likable because she is flawed, vulnerable, but also determined. I appreciated how she isn’t just the one to foil Dean’s playboy persona, but has her own ambitions, fears and reasons for hesitation. Dean has more layers than I expected. He’s arrogant and confident, sure, but there are moments where we see his insecurities and soft side break through. Their chemistry is electric, and Kennedy does a great job of making the slow burn feel genuine without dragging it out too much.

What I loved the most about them was their humour and heart. The banter between Allie and Dean had me laughing out loud, while the emotional aspect hit me harder than I thought they would. The cast of characters we have gotten to know throughout this series show up in a way that enhances the story, reminding me of why I love this series in the first place.

The Score has been one of my favourites in the Off-Campus series so far. It delivers heat, real emotional vulnerability, and satisfying growth in both leads. If you enjoy college romances with witty dialogue, chemistry that builds into something meaningful, and characters you root for, this is definitely a must read. I walked away from this one smiling, with that warm, full heart feeling that a good romance gives.
