The premise of this book definitely intrigued me: a man decides to live on a Coke Billboard. And the pace went fairly quickly so I wasn’t too dissatisfied as I read.

This book definitely broaches hard topics like community, outcasts, culture, family trauma, neurodivergence, and homelessness to name a few. I feel like this would be a great book to have in a book club or class where you could discuss these themes with others and really dig into the meat of this piece.

I’m only ranking it lower because it ends very abruptly and it might because things got lost in translation (this was originally written Spanish) but I was left feeling a bit empty and confused. But overall I feel like this is a good read!

I loved the community aspect that this story reflected. Growing up as a child in Puerto Rico there were many parallels about the good and bad of living amongst a tight knit circle of individuals. The characters were beautiful.

The story to me focused on many issues plaguing impoverished communities such as socioeconomic barriers, sexism, mental health, stigma/shaming.

I wonder for those who have read it, who do you feel is responsible for the accident at the end?

Sadness is never in a good way, but I read the ending at a certain point in my day today. It made me feel sad during a moment of self-pity, and the catharsis of reading this is a welcome relief
