It started off quite strong, then it kind of just fell off. I wasn’t feeling as giddy as Hazelwood’s books nor as steamy. This book definitely has more emotional plot points but I just thought it was mid. like this a stereotypical romance but like we have naomi come back and wanting him like okay or how she was being very rude to sonya like sure every right girl but like listen to the lady and also were the fuck is mom also how did dad die?i think the weird cult plot was kinda lowkey weird but overall wasn’t a bad read. I think for me it was trying to be this like deep read full of meaning and growth and like such but in the end it just felt quite shallow

My first adult Emily Henry book and what a great one to start with.
I loved January and Gus and their heartfelt journey individually and together. So much pain, so much hope and so many nuances.
I would’ve rated this even higher but there was a point around halfway where my investment in the story and characters dipped for a bit - but then it picked back up.
Overall, a great character driven story that makes you think and feel and leaves you satisfied.

miscommunication isn't exactly my favorite trope, especially when it feels like they never really find a level ground for actual communication so it's less compelling. the writing is solid and the characters have a pretty good amount of depth to them which is more than most romances i read
that being said

Really enjoyed this book so much that I finished it in one night. I love a good enemies to lovers trope.
