“The struggle is what affirms you’re alive. Without it, the bright moments don’t shine.”

Aria St. James, twin to Clara, one of the six runaways that lived in Lou’s junkyard, is the grounds manager at The Gallaway in Heron, Oregon. It’s everything she’s ever wanted, she can put her hands in dirt daily, and the plants and flowers that she cultivates thrive in the coastal area. When her friend Kat passes off the Cadillac for her to take her turn on the road trip she knows she’ll never go back to California. But she has a plan to take it to her sister, Clara, and Nephew, August in Arizona, and Clara will drive it to California. When she arrives in Welcome, Arizona her sister is sick with a horrible cold, her nemesis & billionaire, Broderick Carmichael, Clara’s boss, is in residence and he needs a plus one for a family wedding. With revenge on his plate (the bride), and too much bubbly in her system, Aria falls into bed with Brody. The surprise is that a few weeks later she finds out that she’s pregnant.

Surprise baby isn’t always the best trope in my book, but this story was so much fun that I wasn’t mad about it. I loved that runaway Aria had to teach billionaire Brody how life really works and that she couldn’t be bought. I got some good giggles, and as with the other stories the spicy times are intense. We get Aria’s backstory in this tale, and it’s a jolting one. Love is the name of the game for this author, and she does it wonderfully.
