Wtf did I just listen to? That was some seriously messed up crap!

What a concept. I was drawn in by the idea of a reality school for the artsy and held hostage by the double life the school led at night.

My biggest annoyance with this book was the amount of times I heard "he said," "she said." I got really tired of that and just wanted about 30% of them dropped entirely. I didn't think they were that necessary.

Finally finished this book 8 months later!

Overall this book had a really interesting concept for a Dystopian novel and really think I would’ve enjoyed it. However, the execution just wasn’t there. The writing honestly wasn’t good at all. There were a lot of plot holes and a lot of parts that confused me.

I’m still pretty confused. I can’t even keep any of the characters straight outside of Linus, Burnham, and of course Rosie (who’s name I literally just had to go look up because I couldn’t remember)

I rlly liked the romance side plot for Rosie and Linus but also sort of for her and Burnham. Idk who she will end up with. If she even survives bc tf was that ending?

Idk this book was really interesting but it just wasn’t good. The only reason I finally finished it bc I’m trying to get through all my current reads and I just can’t DNF. So yeah.

I don’t recommend this book at all and won’t be posting a review on insta. I do however would be very interested in a movie or another book with a similar concept that was better executed.

I will however, be looking up summaries of the next two books bc I am curious what happens but I just cannot sit and read it.

Scary in the best way, I stayed up late to finish it because otherwise the suspense would have killed me. I didn't like the main character, and a lot was left unresolved, but it was an interesting look at reality TV and the cult of celebrity in some ways.

It feels very Shutter Island.

This was an okay read. The story was good, but there were moments where I was bored. Also, there were some weird moments in the book as well. The characters were okay. I liked Rosie the most out of all of the characters. I wish the book was more fast-paced. I did like the way the book was about kids living in a school as part of a reality show, and the conspiracy theory. The ending was okay. I am interested to see what happens in book 2. Overall, an alright read.
