Much like the second book, I loved the concept but the execution fell flat for me.

In this conclusion of The Burning Kingdoms trilogy, Tasha Suri weaves a compelling tale of longing, humanity, and power. While this book wrapped up the story in a satisfying way, I felt that the second book was stronger overall, especially in character development. I found myself sometimes caring more about the secondary characters than Priya or Malini throughout the middle part of the book. That being said, it's an excellent series.

The last part of this series is defintely the best, maybe a bit biased since I feel like I've grown with the characters and respected them more during their dark times. Every chapter I felt like something was happening, that even when I read 30 pages it felt like alot happened. The writing flows more and the different perspectives make every character interesting. It felt like a good and solid end to an amazing epic fantasy trilogy.
Oh my god. Incredible ending to the series, this is one of the fantasy trilogies and love stories of all time. Tasha Suri is magic.

what the hell. genuinely wondering if i was vacation-high while reading the first two books and artificially inflated their scores. the writing just didn't feel as striking as before - lots of clipped sentences in a row, slightly stiff dialogue, SO much passive voice.
The heart-shell plot was stupid and came out of nowhere. the characters felt flat, besides rao and bhumika. even when everything was on fire and the world was ending it just didn't feel tense. urgh. at least the atmosphere was still dreamy and beautiful.
Liked book 1&2 better but the whole trilogy is still great.
