on one hand: this is probably the weakest installment in the series. on the other hand: idgaf this series has me in a chokehold and suri's character work is nuts and the conclusion feels Good.

A solid book and a good end to the series but it was a little too weighed down with all the characters and their various subplots. It felt like we didn't spend very much time with Malini and Priya together since so much other stuff was going on.

Overall, everyone had a pretty good ending. I think the priest plot wrapped up kind of weirdly cleanly but otherwise I didn't have any complaints about the end

Such a breathtaking series. This world is meticulously crafted, the characters pieces of my heart, and the ending perfect. The series has a lot on politics, which are a lot to follow, but well worth it. 5/5 stars for all books.

And Priya was whispering her name. Strange, sweet whispering that was not wanted and yet terribly wanted. That cut harsher than any blade because of its softness. The way it was a balm.

Such a small thing, a phrase of thanks. It did not encompass the tender thing in her chest. This grateful, wounded beat of her heart that knew him, relied upon him as soil relied upon the balm of rain.

... go far from all of this an  then learn how to live again. Then come back, whole or broken it doesn't matter. There is nothing worthless about a broken thing.

What made him a dangerous ally, and a dangerous foe, was that he believed utterly in his own righteousness.

Because I had so much faith in you that I did not see you, your pain or the choice you faced. And you did not have enough faith to trust me.

She had loved Priya but now what she felt for Priya was something beyond love. It was the tether of magic between them. It was hatred. And it was the most joyous and sacred thing she'd ever felt.

You do not need memories to know the shape of home.

Because I am selfish and hungry. And I make no apologies for it.

Faith was a flame that could not be grasped forever.

I do not envy you. I know what it is to be mortal now. It is grief and pain and love that destroys you.

I can see why people would enjoy this series, but it just was not my cup of tea. The worldbuilding, while interesting, has many holes and I found I could not get over the abyss beyond it.
