I like historical fiction and love crime mysteries, but somehow I didn’t love this book. It may have been my fault, and the time I choose to read it, but it’s long descriptions dragged for me, and made it laborious to read. I felt parts went around the same thing, with the Greta detective seemly missing what’s right in front of him. I may reread in the future.

It’s just ok

2,5/5

The novel is a blend of whodunit it mystery and philosophical discussion on theology, knowledge, and power. The writing is dense, filled with historical and theological musings on reasons vs. faith.
