This was a fun time. I really liked watching an established couple work thru their issues. They had hard conversations, they worked together to change their habits for the better. This was a fun, light hearted time!

Hovering somewhere around a 4.5.

Loved the plot, the characters, and their story. Sarah and Caleb were real and honest and true. They felt like friends to me, and I felt like they could easily be real people that existed (instead of sometimes reading about the “perfect” guy who is too perfect to actually exist or the “quirky” but flawless heroine).

My one complaint is that I felt a bit letdown by the last several chapters. While I appreciate what the author did and why she made that plot choice, I think I would have preferred it to go another way and see the adventure through. I also would have loved an epilogue where they came back and did another hike, like many of the other characters have done in the past. I would have liked to see more of an ending (or an open ending) with Yvonne and Helen and Libby and all of the other hikers.

I loved Sarah and Caleb in Out on the Limb so I was so excited to get to know them better in this book! Loved their dynamic and how they’re the definition of growing together but always loving every version of that person.

The love never faded and was always there, they just needed to do some self development. The line about growing and being planted next to each made me bawl for some reason. I thought it was so cute and really hit me in the chest.

🥰 def hit all the feels! Sometimes it’s not about falling love it’s about how to keep growing it!

The last handful of chapters ruined it. Was that random “emergency” necessary?
