3.5 ⭐️ This was really good and I liked it as much as Out on a Limb, but I felt it lacked the right amount of emotional depth and connection I love. This is also a pretty low stakes romance, in that I didn’t really believe the trouble the couple were in - it’s a story of high school sweethearts who married young but 15 years later are in a bit of a marriage crisis and go on an outdoor retreat. But it felt more like Sarah was having a mid-life crisis and was on her own journey of self re-discovery and her partner was her biggest champion but also her biggest clutch. As someone who has been married for 15 years, I didn’t believe they were in as much trouble as they claimed to be and it was resolved really quickly for it to feel real. I felt the most connected with Sarah and her struggles with self identity, at 40 I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up and time is ticking by… I related so much! If only I can get her storybook ending. I loved Caleb, he was great and I truly believed how much he loved and cared for his wife, which added to not feeling the struggle between him and Sarah. I would have loved a dual POV to hear his thoughts on this journey. Also, I loved the Win and Bo cameos, they are still so great.

Overall this has been a really good series that I have zero regrets reading. I think any romance reader who is okay with some open door spice will be compelled to read and love.

Tropes You’ll Find:
