My loves!!! This is an absolute riot. It deserves AT LEAST 5 stars. Of all the books in Season 2, the two best ones are Dead or Alive & Until the End.

The first four volumes of Season 2 contain a lot of violence and suspense. Therefore, re-reading them isn’t as great of an experience as the first time read: I dreaded the grim series of events and the suspense wasn’t there anymore once the plot was known. This is where volume 14 shines: Dead or Alive feels like a warm hug (albeit one that might make you cry). Welcome home, loves. You’re welcome to return here time after time.

Time after time after time…

It is absolutely fascinating, astounding and purely a work of genius. Delightful! One of the best books I’ve ever read. Highest compliments.

This has been my favourite series since 2008, and every book has been 4 or 5 stars. Until now. Sure, we still got some good parts and didn’t miss out on the laughs, but this book was a mess.
It brought time travel into the mix, and it didn’t do it well. The type where they see what’s happening and decide to change it, but people also travel back and change their own timelines.
I spent a good chunk of this book just waiting for it to be over and hoping it would somehow figure itself out in a way that made sense, but nope. In fact, if I don’t start the next book soon, I’m going to end up avoiding it because I’m worried it will be just as bad, or maybe (somehow…) even worse.

As always, Derek Landy continues to keep me coming back for more and more.

I’ve been a fan of this series since I was around 11, round about the same age as Stephanie in the first book, and so I feel like I have grew up with her throughout the series. I feel much more connected to her because of this, and Landy has kept me routing for her from start to finish, and I’m sure I’m not the only young person who has had this experience throughout the series.

By book 14, you would think Derek would’ve run out of ideas for this series by now, but no. He continues to introduce characters I both love and despise, with fresh and new content every single time I pick up of these books. Of course, having known of Derek for over half my life and knowing his writing style, he was bound to introduce time travel at some point. And yet, he manages to do it in such a way, that’s it’s still entertaining without being confusing, something I feel a lot of people can get very wrong when introducing time travel into any kind of series.

The book, as always, ended with a major cliffhanger. One that actually made me shudder a little, coming from somebody with meglaphobia.

I am so excited for the newest instalment to be released, and carry on with my all time favourite series.
