This is the most stressful thing I've ever read. You think it's kind of slow and then everything goes to hell. Pay attention to all detail, everything matters. Go into this book COLD. Do not watch any reviews or read ANY summaries because whatever you think it's about, it's not about that.

This book got a one star review because my mild confusion the whole time is what kept things suspenseful. Wasn’t overtly disturbing/scary as I had expected, so I was a bit disappointed.

To me, confusion is good in a book when things get tied up or left open at the end, but my feeble teenage mind was simply too weak to understand what happened at the end. Also a lot of seemingly empty filler points, or maybe they were just too deep for my understanding. I wasn't a fan of the character(s), and didn't really care or connect with them at any point.

I do feel like perhaps I wasn't reading in-depth enough to understand, perhaps if it was assigned for my English class and I had to analyze it I may have gotten more from the book. I'd recommend this book if you’re looking to be briefly unsettled by confusion.

This is a very short and confusing read. The movie is so much better than this. I think if I ever get back in a philosophy mood I’d enjoy this but it just comes off as hard to read.

This book starts off almost relaxing, but throughout it this sense of nervousness and discomfort sets in that only escalates  without relief, like a claustrophobic & heavy weight that presses down on your chest.
