Damn good story. I liked what the movie did with juror 3.

Okay, I actually really enjoyed this. I think it was an excellent illustration on how quick we can make assumptions without gathering and organizing all of the necessary information to make them. This play had me engaged throughout its entirety and left me satisfied with the outcome.
challenging fast-paced

A great message and a quick read, though I've never been quite into court-based dialogue.

This is a very particular story with merit that’ll transcend time as long as the American ideals of individual freedom, right to legal representation, and “innocent until proven guilty” prevail. The ultimate question of this story isn’t “are they innocent?” like we, as a country and a general society, like to ask — but “are they GUILTY?” Is there room for “reasonable doubt?”

We will never know if the accused committed the crime, but that isn’t the point — and that’s something we struggle with today. I’m a sucker for dialogue-driven, enclosed narratives that show character, and this interweaved socio-political themes throughout it, too, so I was happy. Plus, the film adaptation drove me here :) and it’s always fun to see how a book-to-film adaptation resembles the original (which, in this book’s case, is quite similar).

The ending was a little “hm” for me; Juror Three only changed his vote because he was run down and because of the “odd man out” thing he experienced at the end. He didn’t necessarily change his mind just his vote. I understand it’s highly unlikely for Juror Eight to have persuaded everyone, it’s unrealistic — especially for Americans — but it left a sort of uneasiness in me knowing that sometimes the fates of innocents are decided based on a greater desire to fit in with those around us than the facts of a case.
