Twelve Angry Men

I found this book to be excellent, I thought it was really cool how we knew everything and also nothing about the characters. We didn't know the jurors names, but we can find their personalities. The story had a lot of twists and turns and the climax changes everything and it was amazing how one person can creat such complex characters and plot. I also thought that this shows the legal system really well with court cases and how in the end even the most stubborn people can be persuaded. I'm not sure that they made the right decision, but who is? It's all about one's opinion, which is another great part of this book. I definitely recommend it to people who are looking for a thought provoking fast read.

can we please teach this book instead of to kill a mockingbird? it’s got the same messages minus the white savior and plus intricate characters with conflicting motivations.

i mean it's 12 angry men. read this because i've recently watched the film and it did not disappoint at all. the screenplay for the film is near identical to the screenplay for the play and that's very cool to me. i do think i prefer the film just a little more because of the fantastic performances in it (couldn't not hear the voices of the jurors in the film while reading this) but this is still really good.

as a story my problems with this are really just that certain jurors don't get much to do at all (namely juror 1 is just kinda there) and that's really it. it's very strong thematically with the ideas of prejudice, and how difficult it is to stand alone. i did respect how much more blatant the play was with juror 10's racism. seen people (idiots) deny juror 10's racism in the film and it was very nice to see it blatantly said here. it was done really well and not at all too over the top. very well written story.
