The essence of this play, for me, lies in the moment when the "I'm entitled to my (wrong) opinion" guy (3rd juror) breaks down in tears, realizing how his personal biases had blinded him to the truth.
But yes, if there weren't people like the "3rd juror," there would be no fun and no challenge to the status quo and figures like the "8th juror," who courageously stand for truth, would have no foil. So, that's why, in this exact case, the 3rd juror's continuous resistance to accepting the truth provides quite the entertainment.
A great play, very thought-provoking.

"Sometimes the facts that are staring you in the face are wrong"
“Facts may be colored by the personalities of the people who present them.”
“It's very hard to keep personal prejudice out of a thing like this. And no matter where you run into it, prejudice obscures the truth.”

"One man is dead. The life of another is at stake. I urge you to deliberate honestly and thoughtfully. If this is a reasonable doubt - then you must bring me a verdict of ‘not guilty.'"
Twelve Angry Men is basically 12 men with different agendas sitting in a court room and deciding whether or not a boy knifed his father. There is a bias involved, or should I say, many biases. As it progresses, things get more heated. More people change their minds. There's even some character development. But it's an incredible story about the prejudice and faults within a system that is supposed to be fair for all. I think we can all confidently say that even though it's nearly been 100 years since this play was written, not much has changed. That alone speaks volumes.
"If you want to vote not guilty, do it because you are convinced he is not guilty, not because you’ve had enough."
5 Stars.
...Also. I watched the film like 3 times and still enjoyed it very much.
