I’ve always thought this play was one to remember. Aside from the fact that I played the angry juror in my freshman year of high school, it is one to show the human condition. Impatience, anger, frustration.. what happens when someone’s life is on the line but you have been selected to jury duty during the hot summer months? Short but to the point. Intense deliberation always makes for a good story.

Reread from high school. There is so much packed into this little story.
I hadn't read this play since I was in high school, but remembered loving it, so I decided to read it with my high school students.
It's a tightly written, almost perfectly paced drama that is not only a study of one part of the judicial system in the United States, it's a story that asks the question "how do we know what we know, really? How can we be sure about anything?" Great play.

A powerful exploration of how ingrained prejudices are in each and every person, such that it affects everything from expectations to how evidence is perceived to fit your ideas. The most heartwarming thing about this play is the insight it provides into what a fair justice system should look like, a system where skin colour, ethnicity, education, financial status, what part of the neighbourhood someone is from should not condemn them to hopelessness, and a system where every person involved in the court process can be both compassionate and analytical.
Powerful. Thought-provoking. Riveting. Relevant. This took an hour of my life to listen and will impact the way I think about and consider our judicial system for the rest of my life.
Compelling and emotional. While listening to the audiobook, I couldn’t really tell the voices of the 12 men apart. This book was witty and smart.
Only critique, where’s the 12 angry women?
