This was a super cute and clean romantic story! I had never read any of Everest's books, but was so excited because I love fairy-tale retellings. This is a novella prequel based on Cinderella. Marianne is a strong and caring girl who faces discrimination and troubles. Even though this is a short story, Marianne grows a lot. The prince, Philippe also has to face different trials throughout the story. This was a really good story that perfectly introduced me to their world and made me super excited for the series. I can't wait for the next book! I would recommend this to those who like fairy-tales retellings, though maybe teen-age and up.
