This was a captivating and interesting read from the beginning. Easy peasy and definitely surprised me at the end.

I LOVED this book! I needed a good thriller in my life! It had everything I wanted - a missing girl, a psycho mother, a dysfunctional family, secrets, drama, a TWIST! It was very good. I couldn’t put it down near the end!

What I Liked
I enjoy reading Wendy Walker. As I write this, I'm currently half-way through the second novel I've read by her, and while I don't necessarily consider her a Steven King legacy writer, I enjoy what I read. Emma in the Night is a bit of a psychological thriller. It's unusual and uncommon and I enjoyed it. I ate it up in an evening.

The relationship between Emma, Cass, and their mother is absolutely fascinating. It's the kind that makes you feel an uncomfortable pit right in your stomach as you read. It's unsettling, unrealistic, and somehow still believable enough to enjoy a good, creepy read.

What I Didn't Like
I wish the twists were a little less predictable. I did guess the ending by the second half. The narcissistic parent also adds a touch of uniqueness to the story line, but it also makes the forensic psychologist too good at her job.

I would say 2.5 stars on this one.
At times I was interested, at times I was having a hard time staying focused. This book is about a mother of two missing girls who they claim to have narcissistic personality disorder. But I never really got that and I think she just might be a bad mom? The twist and the ending was interesting but seems far fetched and unbelievable.

This book caught my attention with the first paragraph and did not let go. The characters are all intriguing, as is the story. The psychological thriller genre is one of my favorites, and this one goes on my Top 5 list. Highly recommended!

Just an okay read. Yeah some twists and turns I didn’t really expect but nothing that really took my breath away. I appreciate the positive ending.
