The Tanner sisters disappeared three years ago and no one knows what really happend to them. But one of them is back and ready to tell her story.

I listen to audiobook of Emma in the Night and it was great experience. Chapters alternate between two POVs - Cass (younger sister) and Dr. Winter. Cass tell a story of her and hers sister, Emma, disappearance and then imprisonment on island. She managed to escape but Emma is still there.
On the other hand, Dr. Winter has to put pieces together and find out what really happend because something doesn't add up.

This is a story of really dysfunctional family, jealousy and mental illness. It focus on Narcissist Personality Disorder and how it affects people. I have never read anything on this topic and I have to say it was really good. I will definitely read more book by this author. I think Wendy Walker did an amazing job creating these characters.

I received a free ARC of 'Emma in the Night' in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars! I was hooked from the word go with this one. Two sisters go missing one night, and three years later one of them returns, alone. Told from the alternating viewpoints of Cass (the girl who has returned home) and Abby (who is with the FBI and on the case) we slowly uncover the truth about the night that the girls originally went missing.

This is SUCH a well written book. Right from the start, you know something is off with this family. And as the book goes on, you think you've worked out a twist - you think you know what's going to happen. But you're wrong - you couldn't be more wrong. The plot is extremely unpredictable.

The plot moves at a really nice pace, keeps you engaged - it's definitely a page turner - I didn't want to put it down! At times I found myself a little confused. (Sometimes Abby is called Dr Winters and sometimes Judy is called Mrs Watkins etc) but I realised about halfway through that this is completely intentional and it's the authors intention to make the reader feel completely lost within the story.

It's a pretty dark and twisted story - and I learnt a lot about Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I'll definitely be seeking out more books by Wendy Walker - if you enjoy psychological thrillers, don't miss out on this one!

* Emma in the Night will be released on August 8th. I received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley. *

Wow, this was so intense, just as you think you understand what’s happening, there’s a massive twist and you are dead wrong.
I never saw the ending coming. It was such a twist, but I love how it unfolded.

Despite seeing such mixed reviews for this book I was desperate to read it. I read and loved Wendy Walkers previous book and I have to say that this one did not disappoint me. Sisters Emma and Cass disappeared 3 years ago without a trace. Now Cass has returned alone with a story of where they had been and desperate to find her sister. So many unlikeable characters in this book but it grabbed me straight away. Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Australia for an advance copy of this book to read and review

I really enjoyed my time reading this book. I loved how you had to pick apart the story and made me work to see the truth and the hints were strewn throughout the story.

I never particularly enjoyed, but the set up was still so interesting, I kept at it. I wished I’d given up early. I hated the protagonist: too mature, too together, utterly not believable. Also didn’t like the 2nd protagonist. The end is even further ridiculous.

I really liked it! I guessed some of the twists but that made the twists I didn’t guess even more shocking and enjoyable. I was sad about cass and Emma’s relationship because of my sister but I think they did love each other.
