this was really good and very interesting but a bit slow at times, im not judging too harshly because usually the first book in a fantasy series is boring af and this kept me very intrigued and entertained and its definitely set up for the next book very well

Fun! It was cute. Definitely reads for a younger audience than some of her other works, but I expected that - she wrote this as a teen, after all. It was fun to see the seeds of certain ideas/worldbuilding things that come up in later works.
