I really wanna call this book "banging through the centuries". Smutty with a capital TT, but it also does a good job of world building and setting up the next book. Great read and now I can't wait to dig into the next one.

I think the most beautiful thing about this book was watching Carys grow from someone who was insecure because of her deformities into someone who is confident and clever enough to use people underestimating her because of said "deformities". Not to mention seeing the unconditionally love and support Gavriel had for her from day one was so romantic and heart-mending. How they both leaned on one another through their own forms of grief and were anchors. It truly was such a beautifully short story about two unlikely beings finding the truest form of love.

I heard you need to read this to understand Heartsong. I read about 30% and stopped. The only reason I am giving a chance for the next book is because Halfling was soooo good and sweet.
