I bought the book because I saw much of in relation to another book series (all for the game by Nora Slavic) and I'm not disappointed. It's really good and I am totally ready for the next books in this series. I'm really curious for a few things. What did Ronan mean with his last sentence? Will Blue really kill the person she kisses?
It's a well written book, I like it.

A good start to a series. I knew going in that this is a “vibes” book which helped, and it’s a relatively fast read. Even so there’s a couple chapters I was confused by being included that seem to be extraneous. Overall a lot of short chapters which I like.

This gave me definite call backs to The Whispering Dark which I feel like is a lesser known ya fantasy stand-alone that if you liked this you would probably love.

I look forward to continuing the series as I hear it gets better with each book.

The first few chapters confuses the hell out of me. It was just too many characters & too much lore at my face, making it way overwhelming. The first half of the book was somehow both easy and hard to read. There’s something weird or uncanny or unsettling throughout but I just can’t stop reading. Felt like Sisyphus, condemned to keep reading while barely understanding, against my will.
What was definite throughout was that I was scared as shit reading in the darkness of my room. Like most great books, I just couldn’t stop reading pas the 50% mark. Overall, it was a great & fun read.

Me personally, I would run the fuck away when I hear Latin-speaking trees. But they’re just built different ig. Also, Adam, and Noah’s story is just. Why must u hurt me like this. And once again the smartest is just the biggest lil dumb dumb in the end huh.

I like a good YA novel but this was not my favorite. Plot feels so cobbled together with too many different magic/supernatural tropes forced to coexist. Couldn't follow the logic of it. And the plot twists were boringly predictable. Did not find the characters appealing either.
