Wtf the dude?!?

The more thriller aspects of the book are more prevalent in the later half of the book then they are in the first half. But I actually think that worked well for the story. It is completely disarming when you actually get to the thriller-ish portion.

The two main characters Fern and Rose have two very distinct voices and interesting perspectives and they piece together a mystery bit by bit every chapter with their POVS.

Fern one of our MCs is heavily implied to be Autistic and so is the male love interest Wally. Her perspective was so interesting and compelling. She is such an easy character to love and her chapters were by far my favorite.

Very predictable and not a true “thriller” kept me entertained with the family, sister and romantic relationships.

This was very engaging, and I was curious about the portrayal of autism or at least someone being very sensitive to sensory things. I would read this author again - I thought the format was very interesting.

I’m not sure if the dog ended up dying after the sister forgot to feed it, but I couldn’t keep listening after that.

Oof, this one was a struggle for me. I really enjoyed certain elements of the storytelling. I appreciated the care with which Hepworth presents the differing interpretations of the sister who is on the spectrum. It's a decent thriller that keeps you guessing, but it loses half a star from me for misinformation of Type 1 diabetes. Don't talk about the side effects of high blood sugar if you're not going to get it right. *shrug* (CW for coercion, manipulation, drug abuse, m*rder, S.A.)
