although they are cruel, disgusting, egocentric, self-serving people they are so pitiful, so brutally honest, that they are likeable again. but even though I tried, i could not build an emotional relationship with any of the residents.

It reads like A Game of Thrones if it just wasn't as good LOL sorry
Lots of intrigue, very engaging writing style, enjoyed the commentary/critique on the hoarding of resources and religious fanaticism but ultimately can't recommend. Invested in the first half's great set-up and then the second half just let me down tremendously. Wasn't enough story for me. It is what it is.
