Okay. Hear me out. It’s not that I hated this book. I just wish the format had been different. I understand they wanted to keep the authenticity of his thoughts as he wrote them but the format was just hard to keep my focus.

Alan Rickman was an amazing actor. Truly have so much respect for him and his work. However, it kind of felt wrong to read some of his entries. Like are we sure he would have wanted these published?

Poignant, insightful. I imagine I'll revisit this again and again.

An interesting insight into the day to day of a famous actor but found him to be kind of grumpy and/or depressed. Trudged through the last 40% but wanted to finish and honestly read it for HP connections but limited mentions. I am eager though to look into many of his works that I hadn’t heard of or seen.

Every time I think of the line "A different kind of diary now..." I get shivers. We miss you, Alan.

I guess I hoped for more narrative. More entries with insight. It was really quite jumpy. He did like food.

A very intriguing and enlightening read. Not everything that Alan writes about is clear as to what he is referring to. I think I would have preferred this in more of a biography format, instead of the diary entries. It was nice to be able to read his innermost thoughts about people and situations he was in on set.

A boring waste of time. I'm a fan of his acting but definitely not his private thoughts which I think should have been kept private.

Loved this book. Very informative look at an actors life. You do wonder what this would have been like as an official Bio.

Not a memoir,  but his daily diary entries. Takes a minute to get used to, but It was the perfect thing for my Covid addled brain
