Revisiting childhood reads with this one. 

It’s a great perspective about the struggles of being a pre-teen. It talks about crushes, friendships, puberty, and school all from the perspective of an almost middle school girl. 

It definitely lacks in the diversity realm as all the people depicted are white middle class. 

I think this would be a great read for girls around that age or for adults wanting to revisit a time of vast change (middle school, am I right? terrible).

Reread a book I read over 40 years ago when I was the age of the main character. Even though I’m closer to the age of the grandma in the story, all those feelings of anxiety and angst about becoming a teenager came back to me.
