This is probably one of my favorite Marie Higgins books. I really liked the twists in this book. The story begins with Charlotte attending a masquerade ball in Bath. She is trying to track down her wayward husband who left her after three days of marriage. After three years of his absence, she has had enough and wants an annulment. But first, she wants him to see what he has been missing. His child bride has grown up. I really liked the relationship that developed between Charlotte and Ian. His investigative profession and the disguises he dons were fun to read about. I liked the character of Adam as well.
