Most of the time I really liked it, and there were times I couldn't put it down. However, by the time it ended, I was bit disenchanted from having to link three huge themes together. Each was good, but the impact of 9/11 eventually faded, overshadowed by the drama of the other themes. It just didn't mesh right. The romance was often cheesy, and I'm growing tired of people working their jaws and raking their hands through their hair.

I do recommend it because it's a wonderful memorial to the firefighters, as well as a creative and uplifting read. I'll probably read the second in the series.

This has been on my shelf for a while. It was recommended by a friend and after I got it, I never felt like I was ready to read it. This year on Sept. 11th, I decided to read it as a remembrance and tribute of sorts to those who ran towards instead of away. A heart touching story, but I would have liked a little more depth on some of the story lines.

A very touching book about that fateful September day and how it changed lives forever. A page turner in every way and a story I will definitely read again.

I absolutely loved this book... I wasn't sure I'd love it, but from the fourth or so chapter, I was hooked. I stayed up till 4 reading although it was a school night. I couldn't put it down!!! Amazing story... :)

This book is beautiful. Such a compelling story and Karen truly understands the art of writing. Never in my life have I felt so involved into a character's life until I picked up a Karen Kingsbury book. Absolutely amazing. I'm dying to get my hands on the 3rd book.

This was the first novel I’ve read by Karen Kingsbury. Talk about a tear jerker! By the end, you truly come to love Jake Bryan. This is the kind of book that sticks with you. Definitely a re-read in the future.

Knocking off a star for some unbelievability at parts, and some cheesiness.
